Join the Village of Homer Glen in celebrating Park and Recreation Month with the community's very first Chalk Fest, ''Chalk-It-Up!'' on the sidewalks surrounding the park. Families, professional artists, amateur artists, students and anyone who just wants to chalk are welcome to leave their mark at the park!
Click Here to Register. Pre-registration is required. Event is free of charge. Please note, competition space is limited. Each participant will be given one 24-color pack of chalk and assigned a chalk-block work space. If participants would like to have a helper, they may, but they are limited to one extra person in their same age group, for a maximum total of two people working on one block.
Prizes will be awarded in the categories of "Best Use of Color", "Most Interesting Characters" and "Most Creative Theme." Prizes will be awarded in each age group: 6 & under, 7 to 13, 14 to 18, and 18 and over (adult).
Location / Parking
Stonebridge Park is located south of 159th Street on Stonebridge Drive in the Stonebridge Woods subdivision. Parking is limited, however is available on Stonebridge Drive. Carpooling is encouraged.
What to Bring
We recommend that participants bring a towel, hat, sunscreen, bottle of water and a snack. Participants are also welcome to bring extra chalk, chalk pastels and blending tools if they wish. Absolutely no paint will be allowed, of any variety.
All attempts will be made to hold the chalk art contest. In the event of inclement weather, please check the Village of Homer Glen website for notice of cancellation. Rain date is scheduled for July 28, 2018.
- 9 - 9:30 a.m.: Artist check-in at the registration tent
- 9 - 12:30 p.m.: Artists will be creating their masterpieces. Music, children's games and refreshments will be available.
- 12:30 p.m.: Awards Ceremony
