Tennis & Pickleball Programs
FALL PROGRAMS
Registration begins August 1, 2023.
REGISTRATION IS ONLINE ONLY - YOU WILL NEED TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT DURING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS
All pickleball and tennis programs take place at Heritage Park Courts
14240 W. 151st Street, Homer Glen, IL 60491
All activities will be directed by South Suburban Tennis (and Pickleball) Academy certified professional, Andy Ventress (CPR certified) and staff. Each lesson will include instruction, drills, and play.
ALL Pickleball Classes include a loaner paddle.
FALL PICKLEBALL
Adult Pickleball - Beginners
In these beginners’ classes, students will learn the rules of the game, scoring, and play format along with the basic forehand, backhand, volley, serve, and basic strategies of the game.
Session A: Thursdays, September 7 - October 5 (5 classes) 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm.
Session B: Thursdays, September 7 - October 5 (5 classes) 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm.
Ages 18 and over
$90 R/$110 NR. Min 4/max 8 students
Adult Pickleball - Advanced Beginners
For those who have playing experience and knowledge of scoring and basic rules and strategies for pickleball.
Session A: Tuesdays, September 5 - October 3 (5 classes) 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm
Session B: Tuesdays, September 5 - October 3 (5 classes) 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Ages 18 and over
$90 R/$110 NR. Min 4/max 8 students
Youth Pickleball – Play Days
Students will learn the basic strokes, rules, and scoring for pickleball using games and basic drills. The number-one objective is to have FUN with lots of smiles.
Tuesdays, September 5 - October 3, 3:45 - 4:30 pm (5)
Ages 8 - 12
$80 R/$100 NR. Min 4/max 8 students.
Teen Pickleball
Students will learn the strokes, rules, and scoring system to play pickleball games.
Tuesdays, September 5 - October 3, 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm (5 classes)
Ages 13 - 17
$90 R/$110 NR. Min 4/max 8 students
FALL TENNIS
BEGINNERS: Each lesson will include drill and instruction for the basic strokes (forehand, backhand, serve, and volley) as well as the rules of the game and play format for beginners.
INTERMEDIATES: For those who have had some instruction and have a knowledge of the basic strokes, rules, and play. Instruction will include singles and doubles strategy and tactics and advanced techniques such as spins on serves and groundstrokes, placement of shots, and special shots such as drop shots, stop volleys and swing volleys.
Loaner racquets will be available to use. Basic equipment for tennis play will be explained and demonstrated.
Youth Beginners & Intermediates
Wednesdays, September 6 - October 4 (5 classes)
- Ages 5-7: 3:45 pm – 4:30 pm. $80 R/$100 NR
- Ages 8-12 Beginners: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm $90 R/$110 NR
- Ages 8-12 Intermediates: 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm $90 R/$110 NR
min 6/max 16 students
Teen Beginners & Intermediates (grouped according to ability)
Wednesdays, September 6 - October 4, 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m, (5 classes)
Ages 13 to 17
$90 R/$110 NR min 6/max 10 students
Adult Beginners & Intermediates (grouped according to ability)
Wednesdays, September 6 - October 4, 7:30 p.m-8:30 p.m., (5 classes)
Ages 18 and over
$90 R/$110 NR min 6/max 10 students
