On Tuesday, January 7, 2003, Joe Mikan, Will County Executive, presented the
Village of Homer Glen with its' first EMA vehicle. "We (the Village and
Will County) have had a great working relationship, and this is just another
example of it," Joe Mikan told the Village Board at a Special Board of Trustees
Meeting. "One of our vehicles became surplus and we offered it to Homer
Glen." EMA stands for Emergency Management Agency, of which Mike Wolfe was
the first Coordinator. Mike and Harold Damron of Will County worked very
closely to get Homer Glen's EMA up and running smoothly. The Village is very grateful for Will County's generosity.
