Victorian Village is Expanding with Three New Buildings for Skilled Nursing
Care
August 10, 2010
Victorian Village Proposed Skilled Nursing Facilities (PDF)
The Village of Homer Glen is proud to announce the recent approval of an important community based project located at the existing Victorian Village facility on 143rd Street. Providence Life Services has received a license for a certificate of need from the State of Illinois to provide the first
"Small House" facilities in the State of Illinois at the Victorian Village facility.
A "Small House" facility provides skilled nursing care need in a home-like setting. The Homer Glen Village Board of Trustees recently voted unanimous support of the project, recognizing the important role Victorian Village plays in community life. The proposed three new buildings are to be constructed East of the existing structures and will be designated for skilled nursing care, a service not currently available on the campus. These additional buildings will allow Victorian Village to provide "a full continuum of care" to residents of Homer Glen and surrounding communities.
Providence Life Services plans to start construction next year (2011) on three new buildings to expand the existing facility located on 143rd Street East of Bell Road in Homer Glen. The new buildings will allow for skilled care needs to be provided right here in Homer Glen. The main
"Small House"€ will offer 30 private rooms for people receiving rehabilitation. Two other Small Houses will each offer 10 private rooms for people who need skilled care and memory/dementia support.
