Due to the current COVID-19 situation, many of our in-person events have been canceled for the fall/winter season, including Trunk or Treat. But, that hasn't stopped us from offering some fun activities for the month of October!
October 5-31 Heritage Park Come out to Heritage Park (day or night) for bats, spiders, ghosts, and lights! The park will be decorated with all things spooky the month of October.
October 10-31 Heritage Park Walk along Heritage Circle and View the creative scarecrow displays. Vote for your favorite! Three winners will be chosen.
Boo-tiful House Contest
Deadline to submit is October 25 Decorate your house for the Halloween holiday and enter for a chance to win Homer Glen's most "Boo-tiful" house! Click on the link below to register for the contest. Entry forms must be submitted by midnight October 25. Houses may be decorated any time prior to October 26. Do not cover/interfere with any fire safety equipment or walkways. Decorations must be visible from the sidewalk and street.
Two winners will be chosen: "Most Scary" and "Most Creative". Winning entrants will be posted on the Village of Homer Glen website and Village of Homer Glen Municipal Government Facebook page on October 30. Winners will receive a gift card from a local Homer Glen business.
Online Dress Your Pet Contest
Deadline to submit is October 25 Dress you pet for Halloween! Send a photo of your costumed pet to firstname.lastname@example.org.. Photos will be posted on the Village Facebook page. The photo with the most likes wins!
Online Pumpkin Carving Contest
Deadline to submit is October 25 Show your superior pumpkin carving skills! Send a photo of your carved creation to email@example.com.. Photos will be posted on the Village Facebook page. The photo with the most likes wins!
October 31 Trick-or-Treat hours for the Village are 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. The Village has a "No Trick or Treat" sign that may be posted on the front door if you choose not to participate. Residents may pick up a copy at Village Hall or download the sign.
