The Village of Homer Glen is excited to share information regarding its proposed wastewater treatment facility, which is scheduled to be completed by 2030. Please watch the video below to learn more! 

BP PIPELINE SURVEY CREW UPDATE - BP Pipeline is shown in red on map above. Starting in March of this year, BP Pipelines will have survey crews walking the entire length of their pipeline throughout the Village of Homer Glen, starting at the north end of the Village and working their way south. Crews will be performing a non-invasive survey to evaluate the pipeline and detect any corrosion issues or anomalies as well as verifying the existing depth of cover over the pipeline. Crews may need to access residents property to perform this survey and may need to go through gates or fences to access the pipeline easement and perform the survey. The crew will be using a small gauge, red coated wire to perform the survey. Once the survey is complete, the wire will be picked up in a timely manner. Crews will be working Monday through Saturday. Be advised that effective November 30, 2025, the updated State of Illinois Energy Code (2024 IECC) takes effect for permitted construction projects. A link to the Illinois amendments can be found here.The 2024 IECC offers more flexibility than the current 2021 edition by lowering some prescriptive insulation requirements and expanding the menu of credit options, allowing builders and design professionals to choose cost-effective paths to compliance. Any permits and plans received prior to November 30, 2025, will still be subject to the 2021 Energy Code. Contact the Building Department at 708-301-1301 or buildingdepartment@homerglenil.org for more information.
