Stage 3 – BELL ROAD PROJECT UPDATE

• Traffic will be shifted onto the Eastern half of Bell Road.
• Construction will take place on the proposed Southbound lanes for Bell Road.
• Meadowview Lane will only be accessible via Southbound Bell Road.
• Homer Junior Highschool will be accessible via Northbound and Southbound Bell Road.
• Generally businesses will be accessible via the respective Northbound and Southbound lanes the same as Stage 2. Northbound/Southbound staged traffic will be divided by concrete barriers so the only crossing of traffic that will occur will be Southbound Bell Road to access Homer Junior Highschool.
• Work to be completed in Stage 3 includes:
  • Removal of existing pavement along the west side of Bell Road within the work zone.
  • Grading and earthwork for the new road alignment and profile.
  • Storm sewer installation.
  • Retaining wall and noise barrier wall installation.
  • Curb and gutter.
  • Binder course/asphalt paving in preparation for Stages 4 and 5.

143^rd Street and Bell Road Intersection Project – UTILITY WORK UPDATE

• ComEd has completed a majority of its relocations to the east and west of the 143^rd and Bell intersection.
• The next phase of relocation will occur through the intersection itself.
• At this time work in the intersection is anticipated to begin Monday (12/9) or Tuesday (12/10).
• Relocation work is expected to take 1 to 1.5 weeks to complete.
• Traffic patterns will change throughout the duration of the relocation work, please be alert and obey all work zone speed limits and signage!
