[ARCHIVED] Newly Approved Village Ordinance Regulating the Outdoor Parking of Recreational Equipment/ Vehicles

The Village of Homer Glen recently approved Ordinance No. 15-011, an Ordinance regulating the Outdoor Parking of Recreational Equipment/Vehicles and Construction/Commercial Related Vehicles on Residential (R) zoned properties. The approved ordinance is less restrictive than previous zoning regulations and gives residents the ability to park these types of vehicles in accordance with the new regulations.

In summary, the new ordinance would allow one recreational and one commercial vehicle to be parked on the driveway of the home. All vehicles are required to be parked on an approved hard surface and cannot encroach on public right of ways. All vehicles must be operable, have current licenses and be well maintained. Commercial and Construction vehicles parked on properties are limited in size.
