Registration is required and there are two available sessions (Participants may sign up for BOTH sessions). Prizes awarded after each session.
Session 1: 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM (Check-in begins at 8 AM)
Session 2: 10 AM - 11 AM (Check-in begins at 9:30 AM)
Village of Homer Glen Kids Fishing Derby 2024 Rules
● All participants must be 15 years old or younger to participate, all minors must always be with a parent or a guardian during the event.
● All participants must register before fishing in the derby; registration concludes at Saturday, July 20 9:29 a.m.
● There will be two waves to the Fishing Derby. The first wave starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 9:00am. And the second wave starts at 9:30am and ends at 10:30am. Any fish caught before or after the official derby time window will not be included in judging.
● Fishing is catch and release only, no fish may be taken or consumed from the pond.
● All fish caught must be measured by event judges for official judging.
● Observe and respect other people around you.
● This is a drug free location. No alcohol or drugs are allowed on the property.
● Please dispose of trash in park sanctioned receptacles.
● Parental assistance is allowed, but families are encouraged to allow their children to fish as much as they can.
● One fishing pole per registered participant.
● Prizes and awards will be awarded at the end of the fishing derby.
● Fishing Derby winners must be present to claim the competition.
● Raffle winners must be present to claim prizes from the raffle.
● The biggest fish category will be determined by weight and height measurements performed by event judges.
● Participants are limited to winning only one prize during the Fishing Derby.
● All ties will be subject to a random drawing.
● All prizes must be accepted as awarded and have no other surrender value.
● All decisions made by event coordinators are final.
● Participants agree to abide by the Official Rules and Regulations and agree that failure to comply with any of the rules will result in automatic disqualification, forfeiture of all prizes/recognition as a prizewinner.
