Economic Development Committee

Meetings:

• 2nd Monday of each month 6:00 p.m.

Purpose:

The Economic Development Committee is established to help promote economic growth in the community. Together members will investigate innovative initiatives and incentives to foster the retention of local businesses and encourage the growth of existing and new local businesses.

• Provide input on business sectors and establishments for targeted recruitment efforts
• Review and recommend economic development strategies and policies to help promote economic growth in the community
• Recommend code updates to facilitate business operations and growth potential
• Evaluate and recommend economic development incentive tools and programs
• Support and/or recommend economic development initiatives to promote business retention and recruitment
• Recommend annual funding and parameters for the Commercial Building Improvement Grant Program
• Review and recommend periodic updates for the Economic Development Marketing Plan, Open for Business, to reflect new policy direction of the Village Board
• Review and make recommendations on applications requesting sales tax sharing through SOP 007

As required by the State of Illinois Open Meetings Act, agendas and notices are posted on this website and at Village Hall no later than 48 hours before a meeting. Meetings are open to the public. Some meetings may include time for public comment and will be noted as such on the agenda. Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed with the required notice given.
